DETROIT -- Rajai Davis had endured the A's 10-game losing streak
without much opportunity to help end it.
He found his name in the lineup Friday night at Comerica Park for
just the second time since the All-Star break.
Unlikely hero?
Davis was one of several in a 4-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers
that halted the A's 10-game skid. The speedy outfielder sparked the
team with his bat and glove in helping halt the A's longest losing
streak in one season since a 12-game skid in April 1994.
It was the fifth-longest losing streak since the team moved to
Oakland in 1968.
"It feels good for everybody," manager Bob Geren said. "There
