- Nyjer Morgan made his first major-league start in left field
last night. Morgan, hitting .471 in his past five games, had made
all 34 of his previous big-league starts in center field. Manager
John Russell said there are no plans to move every-day center
fielder Nate McLouth to left field when the speedy Morgan starts.
"Right now, Nate is our center fielder," Russell said. "He came into
spring training to win the center field job and he won it. That's
where we are going to keep him, as of now."
- Zambrano has as many home runs this season (four) as five of
the players he faced in the Pirates starting lineup last night. ...
