A police officer has been suspended from duty after being
arrested on suspicion of theft and attempting to pervert the course
of justice.
The Police Standards Board confirmed the unnamed uniformed
officer, who is based at Torquay, was detained then subsequently
released on police bail pending further investigation.
While inquiries are carried out, the officer has been suspended
on full pay.
Bay police chief Superintendent Chris Singer said he could not
comment on the details of the incident because of police procedures
for dealing with this type of allegation.
Police have also refused to release details of when the offence
is alleged to have taken place, when the officer was arrested, and ...
