CLAYTON -- Motorists commuting on Marsh Creek Road between
Brentwood and Clayton today traveled obstacle-free after paving work
was finished ahead of schedule, the California Highway Patrol said.
Resurfacing work over the past week on the thoroughfare between
Central and East Contra Costa County -- a heavily used alternate to
Highway 4 -- was cited as a factor in two fatal crashes because of a
residual layer of gravel.
The separate crashes claimed the lives of 33-year-old Oakley
