SEB SANDERS was in hospital last night after suffering a
suspected broken leg in a horrific pile-up at Chester. The joint
champion jockey was aboard Luca Cumani's Speed Gifted in the
corbettsports.com Chester Handicap and was thrown heavily to the
ground as Sir Duke clipped heels and fell three furlongs out,
bringing down Sanders' mount and Cheshire Prince in the process.
Sir Duke broke a shoulder and was put down, but the other jockeys
and horses escaped with cuts and bruises. Sanders tried to walk
away, but had to be stretchered off to Chester Hospital. His agent,
Keith Bradley, said: "Seb is awaiting X-rays, but the doctor and Seb
are sure it's a broken femur. He is very tough and is ...
