CHEDDAR CHEESE PRETZELS
Serves 7
1 batch Basic Pretzel dough
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup hot water
1 egg, lightly beaten
Toppings (anything you want)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Prepare the pretzel dough as
directed in the recipe. Place the dough in a bowl sprayed with
nonstick cooking spray, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest
overnight in the refrigerator.
2. Punch the dough down, then turn it out onto a lightly floured
work surface and cut it into six pieces. Use your hands to roll the
dough into ropes that are about 24 inches long and 2 inches thick.
3. With a rolling pin or buttered hands, flatten the ropes to a 2-
