Whole could be greater than sum of two parts as design firms merge

AN OFFICE interiors business with a projected annual turnover of GBP 75 million has been created following the merger of East Kilbride-based Eastlake Group with Leeds rival Work Inc.

The tie-up, in an GBP 8m deal backed by Royal Bank of Scotland, brings together more than 500 staff.

Branded Eastlake Work Group, the combined business will be headquartered in East Kilbride with a second main office in Leeds. It will have satellite operations in Belfast, Manchester, Cardiff, Newcastle, Nottingham and London.

The deal would appear to be a merger of equals with both companies having grown their respective turnovers to around the GBP 30m mark last year.
