Glacier National Park ; It's a true backpacker's paradise ... but it's also totally hospitable to those who don't enjoy freezing, sleepless nights on the ground.

While much of Glacier National Park is considered wilderness - a true backpacker's paradise - the developed portion of the park draws just as much attention as the lofty peaks.

Those not dying to spend a night freezing on the ground can find themselves in a series of historic and relatively rustic lodges.

Many Glacier Hotel

The hotel that stands today was built in 1915 by the Great Northern Railway. Initially, there had been many other small cabins and chalets in the area, but fire and avalanche destroyed many of the structures over the years, leaving only the historic hotel.
