Stothert & PITT Cranes coach Jamie Knocker and his Stotherts side have been handed a daunting challenge this weekend which will see them start the 2008-09 season with back-to-back cup games in the space of just 24 hours.

On Saturday, Stotherts take on Dorset & Wilts 1 South outfit Westbury in the first round of the EDF Energy Senior Vase at Adamsfield.

And the following day, they have to put out a side to tackle fellow Somerset Premier side North Petherton in the opening round of the Somerset Cup.

"Back-to-back cup games on the opening weekend of the season is a tough way for any amateur club to start a season," said Knocker, who insists Stotherts will be hell-bent on winning both ties.
