NEW YORK -- Josh Hamilton didn't quite call his shot. The Rangers
outfielder mused in the afternoon about hitting the first fair ball
out of Yankee Stadium, but he didn't come close to predicting how he
would touch 'em all in the Home Run Derby.
He didn't hit a ball out of the park Monday night, but he did
bounce a couple off the back walls in a prodigious, record-setting
first round that made him a big-time New Yorker for a night.
Hamilton slammed 28 home runs in the first round, which got the
crowd at the Stadium screaming for him, totally overshadowed the
"Call Your Shot" promotion and made even the final round
anticlimactic.
