Surprisingly, recent surveys indicate that pets will be provided
for even during a recession. Many pet owners are willing to cut back
on vacations and expensive electronics to ensure that their pets are
properly cared for.
There also was, however, an indication that nearly one-third of
the pet owners surveyed say they may forego preventive care.
This is particularly troubling and may be to the detriment of
pets and their owners. Cats are especially vulnerable, as they tend
to be taken to the veterinarian less often and often are less
visibly ill.
