MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- East Carolina caught West Virginia's eye
before it stunned then No. 17 Virginia Tech in the season opener.
"Someone said, 'Do they have our attention?'" West Virginia coach
Bill Stewart said. "Oh yeah. They had our attention before they
played."
The televisions in West Virginia's locker room were tuned in to
college football's upset of the week Saturday. The Mountaineers were
captivated by East Carolina before West Virginia even took the field
against Villanova in their home opener.
"Well, word got to me that our players were in the locker room
before the Villanova game watching East Carolina as they were
putting on their pads and uniforms," Stewart said.
