When a New Kensington bottling plant wanted to cut its energy and
water consumption to save money and reduce pollution, it turned to
Penn State University specialists who made recommendations resulting
in annual savings of about $500,000.
"They were a big help. It saved us money, and it makes you feel
good to help the environment," said Brian Dworkin, president of
Castle Co-Packers Inc. , which bottles about 100 brands of brewed
and powdered teas and flavored waters for numerous companies from
its plant in the Schreiber Industrial Park in New Kensington.
