A craggy monster marrow, looking more like one of Dr Who's adversaries, has weighed in at an incredible 65 kilos to beat the old Guinness world record by three kilos. It took two men to carry it to its display table.

It is just one of the spectacular exhibits in the giant vegetable contest at the show, which runs for three days at the Royal Bath & West showground, near Shepton Mallet.
