struggle to harvest washed-out cereal crops.
The region's farmers were forecasting a bumper harvest, but
experts say they could lose millions of pounds as wheat crops
deteriorate in the downpours.
And the misery is not over for many East Yorkshire farmers as
they struggle against the elements to bring in storm-lashed crops
before the next rainfalls.
Weathermen warn this September could be the wettest ever, leaving
farmers little opportunity to salvage thousands of acres of wheat
from the rain-soaked land.
