WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Congressman Al Green (D-TX)
will join housing industry and minority groups today in a rally to
save seller-funded downpayment assistance (DPA) programs, which are
slated to cease on October 1 as a result of President Bush signing
The Housing and Economic Recovery Act into law on July 30. Speakers
will call on Congress to pass H.R. 6694, a bill to reinstate DPA.
The programs have played an integral role in the housing industry
