East Riding: The county's Royal British Legion has launched a campaign to highlight poverty among the elderly.

Backed by Age Concern, the legion is calling on the Government to make changes to lift UK pensioners out of poverty.

The organisations are urging people to sign up for their Return to Rationing? campaign, designed to highlight the struggle older people are facing with rising fuel and food costs.

Chris Cunningham, county manager for The Royal British Legion, said: "We have a high number of older people in Hull and East Yorkshire and the legion is doing everything we can to support them.
