East Riding Council's leader has pledged that council tax will be pegged to a below inflation rise of less than four per cent next year.

This year residents had to pay a maximum 4.9 per cent increase.

But today Cllr Stephen Parnaby said there would be no cuts to services and the council's financial management over the past few years had enabled it to make the promise.
