Article: A return to tradition: St. James brings back Latin Mass ; Priest has spent past year learning, practicing

St. James Catholic Church will revive a centuries-old Catholic tradition this weekend.

The Rev. Joseph Totton will perform his first public Latin Mass Sunday, the first Sunday of Advent. He said he hopes to make Latin Mass available every Sunday at 12:30 p.m., in addition to the church's regular Masses.

"What I envision ... I think as it's offered and people become more aware of it, there's going to be some curiosity," he said. "While there might not be a huge demand for it right now, I think the availability will spur a greater interest."
