It's not every play that finds the audience rooting for a serial
killer. But "Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street,"
manages to not only make a killer human, but makes him the good guy,
too.
A national tour of "Sweeney Todd" is coming to the Kansas City
Music Hall next week. The play will have eight show times from Jan.
8 to 13. Tickets range from $25 to $56 and are available through
Ticketmaster.
The premise of "Sweeney Todd" is a dark one. Unjustly convicted
of crimes he didn't commit by the dirty Judge Turpin, barber
Benjamin Baker is banished to Australia and loses his wife and
daughter. He returns as Sweeney Todd and exacts revenge by killing
those who had a hand in sending ...
