Article: Fun Center to open ; South Side center remodeling project nearly complete

Richard and Kathy Shuster are family people.

The couple recently purchased the vacant bowling alley in St. Joseph's South Side and are reopening the facility as a home for families and neighborhood youth.

"That's why we're doing it," Mr. Shuster said. "So kids can come and hang out."

Southside Family Fun Center, located at 6938 King Hill Ave., will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. on weekends.

The Shusters have completely renovated the 22,000 square-foot building. Fresh paint, new flooring, lighting, seating and bathrooms were just a few of the things on the list that needed to be done.
