RIVERSIDE -- The Riverside Historical Society's new location might seem unusual for such an organization, but Historical Society President Judy Horn said it's had unforeseen benefits.

"At first I thought, oh gosh, a historical society in a shopping center," Horn said. "But it's been a great move for us."

With help from city Economic Development Director Bob Murray, the historical society started moving into its new quarters in the Airway Shopping Center in May and celebrated its grand opening Sunday, Sept. 14, with an oldfashioned ice cream social and ribbon- cutting.

The Riverside Historical Society was formed 12 years ago, and until May, housed in a small office at the old Village Hall ...
