The Federal Communications Act preempts state-law claims alleging
that cell phone use has adverse biological effects and that industry
players conspired to hide that information, a U.S. District Court in
Pennsylvania has ruled. Cell phone users filed a class action in
state court against manufacturers and others in the cell phone
industry claiming they conspired to hide the adverse biological
effects associated with cell phone use.
The class consisted of users in Pennsylvania who had not been
diagnosed with any illness or injuries associated with cell phone
