Article: White seeks to revoke drivers licenses; Reckless homicide: Report finds that local officials had not reported the convictions

CHICAGO (AP) - Secretary of State Jesse White has moved to revoke the drivers licenses of 193 people who still have clean or incomplete driving records despite being convicted of reckless homicide, top aides to White said.

White also is mulling legislation that would ensure the clock on a license revocation doesn't begin until after a person has been released from prison, the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday.

"Secretary White wants us to go out of our way to help solve this problem," said Marti Belluschi, White's chief adviser on drunken- driving prevention.

The Tribune studied secretary of state records and found that local officials had not reported the convictions of 193 out of 289 ...
