Food is abundant in the United States, and is more affordable
here than any other place in the world. Yet some people in Dubuque
County do not share in the bounty.
Some local businesses and an area farm group wanted to make that
point this weekend. The Dubuque County Farm Bureau, Dubuque's Hy-
Vee food stores, and radio stations KDTH and KAT-FM are hosting
"Round Up Weekend."
Friday kicked off Round Up Weekend, during which shoppers are
asked to round up to the next dollar on their grocery bill, and
donate the change to St. Stephen's Food Bank in Dubuque. Round Up
Weekend continues today through 6 p.m. Sunday.
