Today's motorists expect more "sizzle" from their vehicles, according to Jim Wheelan, new car sales manager at Dan Kruse Pontiac in Dubuque.Wheelan admitted that while some of the gadgets in automobiles are not a necessity, they are becoming more common - and more in demand by consumers.

Vehicles have come a long way from the days when a cassette player was considered an extra feature. Nowadays, some automobiles look more like entertainment systems, with CD, DVD and VHS players. Navigation systems also are becoming more advanced, allowing motorists to trade stocks, make hotel reservations and check e-mail - all with the touch of a button.
