DES MOINES (AP) - The FBI has joined the Des Moines police and
state authorities in investigating Neighborhood Housing Services.
A copyright story by The Des Moines Register said that Des Moines
police asked that the FBI help local officials look through the
finances and loan agreements of the housing agency.
"It would be safe to say that this is a multifaceted, complex
investigation," said Des Moines police Lt. Kelly Willis. "We'll
prosecute on the highest level if there's anything to prosecute."
Des Moines City Manager Eric Anderson asked police to investigate
the nonprofit agency after about $34,000 in city money went
undocumented after requests by the city to show paperwork.
