MATAMATA trainer Roger James is looking forward to International
Stakes day at Te Rapa on February 10 -- but not just because his New
Zealand Derby-Wellington Stakes winner Roysyn will be tackling the
day's feature.
James will also line up another of his stable stars Corndale in
the $100,000 weight-for-age Waikato Draught Sprint (1400m) and it
will be the horse's first start for about 18 months.
Following Roysyn's win in yesterday's Group III $75,000 Queensgate
Centre Wellington Stakes (1600m) at Trentham, James was reluctant to
rate the horse ahead of Corndale as the best he has trained.
"I don't like to compare horses but I have always had a huge
opinion of Corndale," James said.
