THE race is on for the top four positions in the Smokefree
National Soccer League and two of the teams clash at Auckland's Allen
Hill Stadium this afternoon.
Former leader North Shore United entertains a Nelson Suburbs side
still reeling from its shock 6-0 drubbing at the hands of lowly
Woolston last week.
Both top-four contenders have their problems. Injuries to Matty
Byers and Nobby Stiles could leave Shore a little short defensively.
But those who subscribe to the theory that the best form of defence
is attack will welcome the return of Steve Nickson and John Lawler,
not to mention Tim Stevens, who is fast recovering from injury.
Nelson comes to Auckland today with a point to prove. ...
