KEVIN SPACEY dismisses the suggestion he is an overnight sensation. "There have been a lot of directors who have fought for me over the years, to put me in their movies.

"Now, their movies may not have become big hits, and this is certainly the first year I've been in movies that have made this kind of money, but I don't look at it like I've suddenly arrived. I've been here, very quietly, weaving my basket under the bridge for a while."
