LOVE him or loathe him, Richard Prebble is one of the few
"characters" among New Zealand politicians. And he has been
thinking, again.
He reckons the first MMP election presents us with the biggest
political challenge we have had.
New Zealanders, he says, have never been in a situation where so
much uncertainty is combining around one event.
"There are no conventional signposts to guide us. The normal
compasses don't work. And a dense fog is hovering about two feet
from the ground."
And, according to Mr Prebble, it's going to be even worse after
the election: "We will be in political limbo-land. For two weeks
following the general election, we will not have a government.
