PHARMAC boss David Moore has launched a scathing attack on drug companies, saying their eagerness to sue New Zealand's drug-funding organisation stops people getting access to better medicines.

Pharmac is involved in seven cases of litigation and Mr Moore estimates it could cost the organisation up to $2 million to defend them -- money which he says should be spent on medicine.
