NEWLY crowned Treasurer Winston Peters clearly expects Finance
Minister Bill Birch to play Robin to his Batman in the new coalition
government.
But while Mr Birch seems comfortable with that role, the jury is
still out on what the dynamic duo will mean for the nation's
economic
health.
Those reservations reflect doubts over Mr Peters' economic
abilities as much as the lack of detail provided on the two
positions' responsibilities.
While Mr Peters has said a definitive statement on the new setup
will be made at some unspecified future date, already it's clear his
will be the top job, with overall responsibility for economic
direction.
