Article: Photographer-poet promotes peace

FROM Japan with love comes an exhibition with a difference: Daisaku Ikeda's Dialogue With Nature, a collection of more than 80 photographs and a selection of his poetry.

Unless you practise Nichiren Diashonin Buddhism, you won't know who Ikeda is. But to those who do -- and millions are dotted around the globe -- he's their leader, their connection to the mission of world peace through cultural exchange. He heads the lay Buddhist organisation Soka Gakkai International, which started in New Zealand in 1975 and has about 500 followers here.
