Article: Banks Peninsula values increase 25 per cent

The Banks Peninsula District has a new 1997 valuation of more than $1 billion.

Valuation New Zealand's latest valuations put a capital value of $1,172,820,000 on the area.

The new value, based on valuations completed on September 1, compares with the 1994 total capital value of $939,886,000. The new total represents a 24.8 per cent increase. Land values have risen 45.5 per cent from $427,476,000 in 1994 to $622,151,000 in 1997. The highest capital value increases have been for vacant residential land, which increased 49.4 per cent.
