The Otago-Southland fertiliser war took a new turn in the High
Court at Christchurch yesterday.
Meanwhile, a North Island fertiliser company sees any Southland
rejection of Ravensdown as a chance to move on the whole South Island
fertiliser market.
Ravensdown Fertiliser Co-operative, based in Dunedin, has made an
offer to the shareholders of Southland's Southfert Co-operative.
Southfert said in a statement yesterday that the High Court in
Christchurch had ruled Ravensdown breached the Companies Amendment
Act 1963 in trying to extend the closing date of its takeover offer.
The offer was extended from July 1 to December 20.
