IN THE humdrum Parisian suburb of Asnieres-sur-Seine, the street sign for the short rue du Congres is crossed out in red paint. Above it, a new sign reads "rue Louis Vuitton". It's a small tribute to the most famous luggage brand in the world. For almost 120 years, all Louis Vuitton products were made in the Asnieres workshop; next to it stands a very grand mansion that was home to four generations of Vuittons.
