DEARBORN, MICHIGAN -- Ford Motor Company has agreed to buy Volvo
Cars, the worldwide passenger car business of AB Volvo, for $US6.45
billion ($NZ12.2b).
``Volvo is a perfect complement to the Ford family of brands
worldwide,'' Ford chief executive Jacques Nasser said.
Ford's brands include Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury in the US,
Jaguar
and Aston Martin in Britain, and the company also holds a one-third
