The fast-emerging digital printing sector came of age at this year's Pride In Print Awards in Christchurch, when John Hughes accepted the Supreme Award for a Chinese Exhibition poster he printed for the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.

The Dunedin firm, Hughes Lithographics Ltd, has been a successful Pride In Print entrant since the awards began, but not with digital printing. In those days, digital printing was being developed by Hughes in association with Xerox New Zealand.
