Christchurch entrepreneur Anthony Runacres is forging a link
between business andmusical theatre with his company, ARTCO.
Set up in 1998, ARTCO seeks to nurture musical theatre by
providing finance for localand national productions.
The company is now bringing the New Zealand-written Rush! to
Christchurch, havingbought the rights to the musical, which opened
in Dunedin last year to wide acclaim.
Rush! opens at the Theatre Royal on November 5. It tells the
story of the Otago goldfieldsin the 1860s, where men feverishly
chased their dreams of fortune amid poverty andperil.
Mr Runacres says he believes musical theatre needs more business
structure.
