WELLINGTON -- Fast-food chain Restaurant Brands says total sales
rose 14.3 per cent to $60.5 million in the 12 weeks ended September
10, from the same period last year.
The company owns the Pizza Hut, KFC, and Starbucks chains in New
Zealand. Pizza Hut was the star performer during the period.
The division posted sales of $16.1m -- up 46% on the previous
corresponding period -- mainly because of Pizza Hut's takeover of
rival Eagle Boys last year. On a same-store basis Pizza Hut sales
rose 11.6%.
Two new Pizza Hut delivery/ takeaway outlets opened in Hamilton
and Whakatane during the period, with another two expected to open
