By replacing its Lantra wagon with a vehicle like the Matrix, Hyundai is banking on broadening its market base with the car, appealling to fleets on one hand and families on the other.

The relatively high-rise styling profile used for the Matrix gives it a huge space advantage over the more conventionally shaped Lantra, with almost as much rear legspace as an Aussie six-cylinder sedan, plenty of headroom, and enough luggage volume to carry two full-sized hard shell cases and sundry soft items.
