Article: Merchandise exports well up

The value of New Zealand's merchandise exports rose 24.3 per cent to $30.79 billion for the year ending June 2001.

Trade New Zealand general manager market services Jack Stephens said during the year exporters had enjoyed very favourable trading conditions, with a low New Zealand dollar and high prices for agricultural commodities.
