"Toot, don't wave," is the advice that blind walker Noel Driver
offers to drivers wishing to support him.
With his guide dog, Ringo, in one hand and Jack, his Clydesdale
Appaloosa-cross in the other, he is walking around the South Island
to raise awareness of the guide dog service.
Mr Driver, 50, has covered 600km of his journey, which he has
allowed himself 100 days to complete. Starting in his home town of
Reefton on October 22, he has walked to Blenheim, Kaikoura,
Culverden, and Waipara, and from Woodend to Cust, where The Press
caught up with him.
He has been overwhelmed by the support shown along the way. While
