Support for Labour is steady at 42 per cent despite raging
controversy over the Government's Maori policies and unease over its
economic management.
The latest One News-Colmar Brunton opinion poll shows National
was also on 42 per cent, up only one point.
The survey was taken amid debate over Associate Maori Affairs
Minister Tariana Turia's radical stance on colonisation, the
Government's payments to gang members, and the inclusion of a Treaty
of Waitangi clause in the Singapore trade deal.
Other factors include rising petrol prices, the plummeting
dollar, and the drop in New Zealand's economic competitiveness.
