The annual Artie White Foundation sports dinner raised a stunning
pounds10,000 for needy causes.
Organiser Pete Jolly pulled out all the stops on the glamorous
night, which took place at the Beachcomber.
Top sporting commentator Ron Atkinson was the special guest, but
perhaps more special than that was the generosity of those who
attended.
Mr Jolly said: "It was a really good evening, which was well
attended.
"Among the top auction items was a classic Manchester United
shirt which raised pounds600, and a number of legal tender George
Best commemorative pounds5 notes.
"We also highlighted the Jake O'Brien appeal that night and
raised pounds2,840 which is absolutely fantastic.
