St Austell Brewery is to close its four warehouses and
distribution centres in Cornwall and open a single, larger centre to
help cut costs and improve its service.
Depots in Bude, Newquay, Redruth and St Austell will close and be
replaced with a new centre in St Columb, near Newquay Airport.
The building was formerly the UK distribution base for Borders
until the company pulled out in March this year.
It will become the regional hub for storage and distribution to
all of the 2,000 pubs, clubs, hotels and other licensed premises
supplied by St Austell Brewery in Cornwall.
The company said collecting the depots together under one roof
would have stock management and cost saving benefits, but ...
