THE hearts of children taken by a hospital without their parents' knowledge could be buried in a mass grave in Birmingham.

The solution is being suggested to parents by the Young at Heart charity, which supports families at the Diana, Princess of Wales Children's Hospital.

It is is aimed at swiftly ending the heartbreak of families who learned last month that the hearts had been kept by the hospital.

But one father, Alderman Matt Redmond, whose six-year-old daughter Karen's heart was taken after she died 34 years ago at the Children's Hospital, reacted angrily to the suggestion.
