RESIDENTS in Selly Oak want to call time on all pubs and
restaurants which are demanding drinks licence extensions into the
early hours of the morning.
Community groups also want to know why several massage parlours
and gentlemen's clubs are continuing to operate illegally along the
Bristol Road.
The city council's principal enforcement officer Brian Morley and
the principal licensing officer Alan Tolley were on hand at a packed
Selly Oak ward committee to field questions on these issues.
Steve Barrett, of the Tiverton Area Residents' Association, said
one gentlemen's club had been operating for two years without
planning permission, while another two had no licence.
