CORONATION Street star Liz Dawn was set to become lady mayoress
of her home city at a ceremony in Leeds this evening.
The 60-year-old actress, better known as the Street's Vera
Duckworth, will join new Lord Mayor Bernard Atha at the inaugural
ceremony at the city's Civic Hall.
He invited Dawn to become lady mayoress during his year as mayor
in recognition of her work for charity.
